Atalji: Atal ji : Parthiv’s body to be taken to BJP headquarters at 9 am, last journey will start at 1 pm

New Delhi. Bharat Ratna and three-time prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee (93) merged with the five elements at 4:56 pm on Friday evening. Atalji’s adopted daughter Namita Bhattacharya lit him. Leaders of several countries including President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi were present at the funeral. During the last journey, thousands of people offered flowers to Atalji, five kilometers from the BJP headquarters to Smriti Sthal. During this, Narendra Modi walked on foot to the funeral site. Apart from him, BJP President Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan and many senior BJP leaders also walked on foot together.

The three Army Chiefs at the Smriti Sthal, Minister of State for Defense Subhash Bhamre, Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Narendra Modi, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, President Ram Nath Kovind, Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali, Nepal Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar, former Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Sri Lankan car Ywahk Foreign Minister Tilak Marapana, LK Advani, BJP president Amit Shah, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tribute. The army handed over the tricolor to Atalji’s granddaughter Niharika wrapped on Atalji’s body. Congress President Rahul Gandhi and prominent leaders of all parties were also present at Smriti Sthal. Atalji’s memorial site will be built on one and a half acres of land along the Yamuna.

Leaders of all parties reached the BJP headquarters:

Atalji’s body was brought to the BJP headquarters from his residence at 9 am for a final darshan. Here leaders of all parties paid tribute to him. Atalji breathed his last at AIIMS at 5.05 pm on Thursday. He was ill for nine years and was admitted to AIIMS for 67 days. Senior party leaders including Narendra Modi, former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani, BJP President Amit Shah paid floral tributes to Atalji at the party headquarters. Leaders of other parties also came to the BJP headquarters. These included SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia AAP MP Sanjay Singh, DMK leader A Raja, Congress leader Digvijay Singh. Advani looked emotional the whole time.

Atalji achieved worldwide respect- Putin:

On Friday, King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyyal Wangchuk paid tribute to Atalji. Nepal Foreign Minister PK Gyawal, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali, Sri Lankan Executive Foreign Minister Laxman Kirilla, former Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Pakistan Law Minister Ali Zafar were present at the funeral. Mauritius expressed deep sorrow at the death of Atalji. As a mourning the Government of Mauritius tilted its national flag in half. Russian President Vladimir Putin said, “Atal Bihari Vajpayee won respect all over the world. He will be remembered as a politician who personally contributed greatly to strengthening diplomatic relations between Russia and India.” Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena tweeted, “We lost a great humanitarian and good friend of Sri Lanka.

Rahul Gandhi and Mohan Bhagwat paid homage at the residence:

Atalji’s body was brought from AIIMS on Thursday evening and kept at his residence on Krishna Menon Marg for the last darshan. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Congress President Rahul Gandhi reached the same residence and paid tribute to Atalji on Friday morning. At the same time, many leaders, including President Ramnath Kovind, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Modi, UPA President Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, paid tributes late on Thursday night.

Government holiday in 12 states:

7-day national mourning was announced on Atalji’s death. On Friday, 12 states of the country declared state mourning and holiday. These include Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka states. In these states, government offices, schools and colleges were on leave. The Supreme Court and Delhi High Court also worked till one o’clock on Friday. Traders in Delhi also closed all markets.

America, China, Pakistan, Britain and Bangladesh grieve:

Imran Khan, who is going to become the leader and Prime Minister of Pakistan Tehreek-Justice, said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a big personality of politics. His efforts to improve Indo-Pak relations will always be remembered. Chinese Ambassador Luo Zhaohui tweeted – “Deeply saddened by Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s death.” The US Embassy in India said, “Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee emphasized strong ties with America during his reign.” The Ambassador of Britain and Japan said that he was one of the global leaders. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was very popular among the people of Bangladesh.

Modi said- father’s shadow arose:

Narendra Modi while paying homage to Atalji said that his departure is like raising the shadow of father from his head. Earlier in the tweet, he said – “I am silent, in the void, but the tide of emotions is rising.” We all revered Atalji did not remain among us. This is a personal loss for me. He devoted every moment of his life to the nation. His departure is the end of an era. ‘
